Summary
The UK General Election was the major flagship programme of the year for BBC News.
Watched by millions across the UK on both TV and iPlayer, my job as Design Lead was to produce a new design language for the evenings live results. This extended to the 'Lower Thirds' on-screen graphics, and for the in-studio 'Catwalk' screen & Touch screen.
These designs needed to communicate the results as clearly as possible, whilst also be flexible enough to be translated for BBC's African, Arab, Latin and Welsh programming.
Over 23 million viewers watched the Election coverage on the BBC - far ahead of its nearest rivals.
The BBC UK Election coverage was also shortlisted in the 'Best use of Graphics Category' at the Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards.
