Summary
With the UK Election being called on the 4th July, it gave the Election Teams little over 3 months to prepare for one of the most important presidential elections in US history.
Off the success of the UK General Election, I was made Design Lead for the US Elections, delivering on-screen, in-studio & interactive touch screen results graphics & data for election night TV coverage.
With the US electoral system being very different to the UK's, we had to fully adapt the election graphics to clearly communicate the Presidential Race to 270, together with the congressional elections.
Broadcast from the BBC Washington studio, 9 million UK viewers tuned in, with millions more across the world. And just like the UK General Election, all coverage was translated for BBC's Arab, African and Latin programming output.
Figma design components were created, allowing for seamless collaboration with digital designers & stakeholders across the organisation, whilst providing specs for the engineers to build for broadcast.
